Rigid, suspension-type PVC is used to manufacture luggage frames, while plasticized suspension-type PVC is used for the handles. PVC is particularly used for such products because of its high-impact and heavy-stress properties, and good stain resistance. Plasticized PVC (emulsion type) can also be used to produce very rigid artificial leather, which is well suited to the manufacture of luggage casing, thanks to its excellent surface finish and resistance to stains.
Suspension-type PVC resins are used in the manufacture of luggage. Luggage frames are produced by extrusion, while over-moulding by injection is used for the handles. Emulsion-type PVC resins are used to manufacture supported imitation leather by the coating of cotton or synthetic fabrics.
